So.......2 Saturday's ago I decided to go try out for America's Got Talent.
The story behind this is that everyone has been asking me to audition for these kids of shows since the birth of American Idol. I was too old for the 2nd season(31 then) and then they changed things around later. Bottom line..I was afraid of rejection and singing in front of others makes me so nervous.
This is why I HAD to go audition. I had to. So I did. What was it like? 7 hours of waiting and that was with a "fast track" pass. Fast because I got through the Rego line but with the same number I walked in with...I had to wait just as long. At least I had a seat and friendly folks to chat with.
Lots of very colorful people, acts, kids and strange encounters. It was an experience for sure.
When called...a group of us went to the room and sang when our name was called. No celeb judges, just local producers. I gave a solid performance and felt OK about it. No..I felt GOOD. I accomplished my goal. Let's be honest...I don't expect a call. My nude artwork would most definitely have me disqualified anyway. But...a small part of me remains a little hopeful. Very tiny part.
Moving on...
BalconyTv Austin has a beautiful new home at Joe's Crabshack Riverside. One of the best views of the city, food/beer, easy loading? What more can we ask for? LOVED IT!We had our first show last Wed which went brilliant!
I'm working on my SXSW plans now and the show is booked til May/June.
Hot damn....good stuff.

I think you're putting yourself down. I've heard you sing and your voice is beautiful.
You don't have one of those manufactured same old same old kind of voices, that many people with no understanding of how music is made have.
Justin Beiber anyone? Barf.
I hope you do get the call, because it will validate more of the person you are capable of being.
I belieev 10,000% in you and I have so much admiratiob for you as a person and for your overall talent.
