What's My Time, Bitch?!

One thing you learn about Crossfit is that all workouts are timed. This intensifies the workout and makes you work that much harder. One way progress is judged is by seeing faster times doing the same workouts but weeks later.....it's pretty incredible how soon you results and quicker times.

It can make a person go a little crazy with the stop watch. Case and point, I seem to time every workout I do these days: crossfit and not. Today I timed my sprint intervals, the other day I timed my leisure walk with the ladies in my office. Uh...I may have timed myself while I was at Macy's shopping. I dunno...and I never said I was normal!

If I start timing my showers and dinners then we may need to sit down and have a chat.:)

Paleoville is moving along and today is a much better day, mentally speaking. As Matt put it, "I'm getting over myself". I've become a food label reading guru and it's AMAZING how many things contain Maltodextrin.

"Maltodextrin is a short chained starch(aka corn) sugar, gelatin hybrid base, (dextrin), that is used as a food additive. It is produced also by enzymatic hydrolysis from gelatinated starch and is usually found as a creamy-white hygroscopic spraydried powder. Maltodextrin is easily digestible, being absorbed as rapidly as glucose, and might either be moderately sweet or might have hardly any flavor at all."

Did we all see Food Inc?

It's in everything and I need it gone from my life.

Today's workout was 3 miles of sprint intervals in about 22 min, walk/run style. It SUCKED thanks to yesterdays class "Squat 101...Getting to know that pain in your butt"

Brian always looks around our kitchen and says we have nothing to eat.
And from his point of view, we don't- he wants food he can pick up and put in his mouth.
I buy ingredients, so you actually have to prepare them.
But all in all, when I do it that way we are much healthier:)
