I've never tried hotwire, but I'm flying to NY in june and Travelocity and expedia seem to have comparable rates. Orbits was a bit higher.
You can also try sidestep.com, that will search several site at once for you.
Tripadvisor.com also posts pretty good reviews on hotels and restaurants.

Expedia is great. I have a travel agent as well in Dallas you can check out her name is Dena. www.tikitrips.com

I also have an 877 number for her. She does all my trips to Europe , Hawaii etc. If you want more info. let me know

priceline is good as well. sometimes you might save $$$ buy booking a package deal (hotel, car, air) even if you're not going to use the hotel and car.
Did that once flying to Atlanta and ended up saving a couple hundred bucks.

specials shmecials. that's only if you luck out! i use travelocity. they cover all the other places...except southwest airlines...i believe.

once i find out the going rates on travelocity, i then go to the specific airline website and usually book it there...example: delta flights are a few dollars cheaper if you buy them off of www.delta.com than if you buy them off of expedia, travelocity, hotwire, orbitz, etc.

basically...i just use travelocity for a reference...

also...i don't know if they have a stop near you or where you are going, but i would check southwest on it's own also...shitty but sometimes cheap.

and expedia is the best i've used concerning hotel rooms...

if only another disaster like 9/11 would happen...that really helped the flight prices! okay so that might be a little sick.

in case you hear about site59...that is exactly the same as travelocity, but you get less info i think.

and i always check those package deals...once the price to book a hotel and a flight was actually cheaper than the flight alone???? whacked i tell you.

So far 305 is the RT price to beat...that is actualy pretty good but I hate conntinental..oh well. guess I could just get loaded on the flight. Really wanted to fly Jetblue...but they are about 369$

Video..I am going to check out the airline websites..thanks.

Packages are cheaper then flights?? WTF??

Would love to help but you'd have to leave from Aussie for all the places I know. Which might not be a bad idea in itself ;)

Trojan, did you not get my email about JetBlue? What are your travel dates?

Shop them all. Often. When I went to Ireland I got round-trip for $350.00 from Los Angeles. I just kept checking three or four of them everyday for a month and then jumped when the price went down.

Screw Aussie! Wait until I move to NZ and then find some of the cheap rates down there. Or hell, I'd fly over and meet you in Aus too.

FM...it's my home account, I just got it and thank you so much:)

BTW..SW doesn't fly to Boston..:(..I love SW..always fly them.

My dates are June 15 thru the 18...I think It will have to be Jetblue..they are not the cheapest but..i like them and they fly direct. It's like 369RT there..or else Conntinental is 304$..Hmmmm

Like the other commenters, I haven't found any one site to always have the best rates. Compare a few and grab the best one. Also, if you call the reservation desk of an airline and tell them a price you found online they will often meet or beat that rate.
